Creative Advertising Photography

You’ve spent months or years developing your product. Now the time has come to present it to the world. You’ve reached the moment when your design, your project, your passion will be revealed. You don’t want it to look anything other than its very best. First impressions count, so you need to make a good impact right from the start. For many, the first encounter they have with your brand will be a photo online or in print. If that photo doesn’t communicate quality, good design or the hours of passion and work you put in, then that initial impact is lost. Instead, what you need are images crafted by a professional advertising photographer who cares about your product, who wants your business to stand out and be noticed for the right reasons. If you need great pictures and you need them on time and from someone who can understand your business needs then I would like to help.

An Advertising Photographer Gets You Noticed

Advertising photography has to be eye-catching. Its job is to get people to stop and look. These aren’t the type of shots you would tend to use for listing online products in your shop. That would be more likely to be packshot images on a plain white background. Advertising images are those that you would find in pride of place on your homepage or other key pages. They are the kind of shots that you would put in a magazine or on a roadside advertising board. A professional advertising photographer must find creative ways of expressing your brand that are going to get the right people to notice and engage. Sometimes this might mean using some form of special effect, if that is appropriate to the product.

The role of advertising photography is to raise awareness and help generate sales. It is an opportunity to tell the story of a brand in a creative way. Vital to its success is the ability to communicate with the target audience. So, effects shouldn’t be used for the sake of it. Every aspect of the image should be well thought out and contribute to the message.

Advertising Photographer Delivering Reliable Quality

My international photography peers recognise my work as being of the highest quality. This means that I have world class technical, lighting and composition skills. You are in safe hands with someone who specialises in showcasing products at their best. I have won over 80 international photography awards (including numerous Golds) and am a qualified Fellow of the SICP in product photography. I’m also a qualified Associate of 4 photographic societies in other photographic genres and a junior judge with The Societies of Photographers. So, I have a good grasp of what makes a striking image.

I also have a background in cultures and communication skills. This allows me insight into how aspects of composition can be moulded to create a clear message. From colour associations to special effects and product placement I work hard on creating images that draw the eye and sell. All advertising photography also has to be edited to the highest standards to achieve the right look. So, I perform high quality Photoshop retouching in house. That way you are working with me from initial idea to the final polished image. From start to finish we will work together to ensure the right end result for your business.

Advertising Photography for Magazine Ads

Magazine adverts can be a good way to build brand awareness and can offer a wide reach of a relatively targeted audience. However, they can also be expensive, especially premium locations. To make the most of your investment it is well worth planning advertising images carefully for maximum impact and return on investment.

One client that I have worked with regularly as an advertising photographer is Booja-Booja. We have been working together to create adverts for the back page of Vegan Food & Living Magazine. Here is a selection of adverts that have been used including one using CGI to create the ice cream hearts:

“Excellent service from a highly skilled and talented photographer who is always looking for the best possible shot. Joe is professional and extremely helpful: with a creative and collaborative approach which makes him a great person to work with. He has helped the Booja-Booja team to create striking and beautiful images for our press advertising campaign, and we would highly recommend him."
